Deparment of Nursing

Assist. Prof. Mukaddes Turan Miral from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, attended the training organized by Private Küçükçekmece Halkalı Ocean Secondary School for 5th and 6th grade students as a speaker. In the training held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, between 10.30-12.00, Assist. Prof. Mukaddes Turan Miral made a presentation titled “Healthy Growth and Development in Adolescence”.

Assist. Prof. Mukaddes Turan Miral, from our Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nursing, participated as a speaker in the training on “Birth Physiology, Pain Management and Evidence-Based Practices” organized by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Health for nurses and midwives working in maternity schools. Assist. Prof. Mukaddes Turan Miral made a presentation titled “Pain Management in Childbirth and Evidence-Based Practices” at the training held on Monday, February 20, 2023, between 09.00-17.00.

Specialist Nurse Nurgül Turgut and Specialist Nurse Ayşe Güldür from University of Health Sciences Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital Pregnancy Education School were the guests at the "HEM7007 Career Development" course given in the Department of Nursing. At the event held online, our students were informed about nursing and educational activities at the Pregnancy School, the functioning of the pregnancy school, as well as the duties, powers and responsibilities of educational nursing.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Faculty of  Health Sciences  Department of Nursing Vice President Assist. Prof. Sevda Türen took part in the “H&T Academy – Nursing and Technician Training Platform” project implemented by the Turkish Society of Cardiology Cardiovascular Nurse and Technician Project Group.  Assist.

Tülay Aksoy, Nurse in charge of Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Units of Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, attended the “HEM7007 Career Development” course given in the Department of Nursing as the guest lecturer.  In the lecture, the duties, authorities and responsibilities of dialysis nurses were conveyed to our students.

The monetary support results of the applications made as a part of the “2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program” carried out by the TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Directorate for the 2022/1 term have been announced.  12 of our students studying in the Department of Nursing are granted the opportunity to receive monetary support as a part of the program.  We congratulate our students and wish them good luck.

As part of the Department of Nursing’s “Management in Nursing” course given by Assist. Prof. Meral Madenoğlu Kıvanç for senior students, Gülbahar Keskin and Ayşe Pişkin, who are experts in their fields, attended the lecture as guests.

Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Department of Mental Health and Diseases Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (KLP) Nurse & Psychiatric Nursing Association Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Commission Member Specialist Nurse Arzu Aydoğdu was a guest at the “Career Development” course given at the Department of Nursing. Aydoğdu shared her knowledge and experiences about KLP nursing with our students.

Specialist Nurse Ülkü Kaftancıoğlu, Hemovigilance Nurse of the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Blood Center Diagnosis, Examination, and Imaging Services Unit, was a guest at the "Career Development" course given at the Department of Nursing. Kaftancıoğlu shared her knowledge and experiences about hemovigilance nursing with our students.

Our Head of the Department of Nursing Prof. Dr. Asiye Gül and Assist. Prof.  Mukaddes Turan Miral and Res. Assist. Cennet Kara Özçalık, visited the Darülaceze Presidency. Our faculty members from the Department of Nursing, who had a meeting with the Head of the Darülaceze, Master Architect Hamza Cebeci, signed a cooperation protocol with the Darülaceze on applied courses/internships. Under the cooperation, our students were given the opportunity to undergo their internship for the "Public Health Nursing" course in the Fall Semester of 2022-2023.
