Assist. Prof. Sevda Türen, one of the academics from IKU Department of Nursing, accepted being the co-editor and writer of the many chapters in the book titled “Yoğun Bakım Hemşireliği” (Intensive Care Unit Nursing) published in 2021 July, in order to make an important contribution to the field of nursing.
Intensive care nurses are the people who are responsible from using critical thinking skills to diagnose patients with complex and life-threatening problems, monitoring patients continuously, applying quality and advanced intensive care and treatment interventions, establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and their relatives, and implementing preventive, curative and rehabilitative interventions. This book was written by expert nurses and a specialist physician in line with current information and guidelines in order to create a scientific resource for undergraduate and graduate nursing students as well as intensive care nurses who provide holistic and evidence-based care services to intensive care patients.
